Buy FPV Drone in Nepal — GarudX Models, Specs & Price Guide 2025
Looking to buy an FPV drone in Nepal? This guide covers GarudX's locally-manufactured FPV platforms, why local beats Chinese imports, and exactly what you get for your money.

Nepal's FPV drone market has changed dramatically in recent years. Where once enthusiasts had no choice but to import expensive components from overseas — paying customs duties of 20–40% and waiting weeks for parts — you can now buy a complete, professionally-built FPV drone manufactured right here in Nepal. This guide explains your options and why buying locally-manufactured makes more sense than ever.
Why Buy a Locally-Manufactured FPV Drone?
The case for buying a GarudX-built FPV drone over a Chinese import comes down to four factors: customs, support, customization, and quality.
Customs and import duties on drone components entering Nepal range from 20–40%, making imported parts significantly more expensive than their overseas price. A quad that costs USD 800 abroad can easily cost NPR 120,000–140,000 by the time it reaches you. A locally-built equivalent from GarudX costs less and comes fully assembled, tested, and tuned.
Support is the biggest practical advantage. When your imported drone has a problem — a failed ESC, a cracked frame, a detuned PID — you're either watching YouTube tutorials or shipping components back overseas. With GarudX, you bring it to our workshop in Lalitpur. We fix it. Same day or next day, in most cases.
Customization is where local manufacturing truly shines. Chinese factory quads are designed for the global average. Nepal's conditions — high altitude, cold temperatures, variable humidity — are not average. GarudX builds with Nepal's environment in mind: motor KV ratings tuned for altitude performance, frames sized for Nepal's most common racing gates, and tune presets built from thousands of hours of local flying.
NightBolt — Nepal's Fastest FPV Platform
The NightBolt is GarudX's flagship FPV racing drone. Built on a custom 5" carbon fiber frame developed in-house, the NightBolt runs a 2306-2450KV motor setup on 6S power, delivering a top speed of 210+ km/h and a power-to-weight ratio that puts it among the fastest platforms in South Asia.
Key specs: 5" HD propellers, F7 flight controller with integrated OSD, 45A 4-in-1 ESC stack, DJI O3 Air Unit for HD FPV video, 6S 1300mAh LiPo, and a 160g AUW (without battery). The NightBolt comes with a custom GarudX BetaFlight tune that our pilots have refined over hundreds of race hours.
Available configurations: Racing (no camera gimbal, minimal weight), Freestyle (Runcam Thumb Pro mounted), and Cinema (GoPro Hero 13 Black mount). Custom configurations on request.
EchoCore — The Workhorse
For pilots who need a more versatile platform — one that can race on weekends and do smooth cinematic footage mid-week — the EchoCore is the answer. Built on a slightly larger 5" stretched-X frame, the EchoCore sacrifices a few grams of top speed for improved stability and a better camera mounting solution.
The EchoCore runs a 2306-1750KV setup on 4S or 6S, making it adaptable to different battery configurations depending on flight duration or speed requirements. It's the drone GarudX pilots use for commercial FPV cinematography work, and it's tuned for the smooth, flowing lines that look great on screen.
Why Chinese Factory Quads Fall Short in Nepal
The popular factory-assembled FPV drones — Iflight, Holybro, EMAX — are good products designed for sea-level conditions and standard racing gates. At Kathmandu's 1,400m altitude (and higher if you're riding in the hills), air density drops enough to noticeably affect thrust. The same motor-prop combo that rips at sea level will feel sluggish at altitude unless you compensate with higher KV motors or different prop pitch.
GarudX's locally-tuned builds account for this from the start. We test every build at Lalitpur altitude (1,300m) before delivery. If you plan to fly in Pokhara or the hills, we tune accordingly.
Where to Buy
GarudX FPV drones are available directly from our Lalitpur facility and through our online store. We offer a 3-month warranty on all builds, including crash repair service for the first 30 days at no charge (your first crash is on us — it's how you learn). We also run monthly build workshops where you can build your own NightBolt from scratch with our team guiding you through every step.
The FPV community in Nepal is thriving — 140+ active NDRL pilots, monthly practice sessions at designated flying fields, and a WhatsApp community of 600+ members. Whether you're buying your first racing drone or upgrading to a competition setup, the GarudX team is here to help you get in the air.
